STRUCTURAL STEEL
Our structural steelworks include building-beams and roof trusses for residential work, lift shafts and stairwells for multi-unit apartment blocks and forecourt canopies for services stations. We provide I-beams, HSS, channels, angles and plate-work, including plate-cutting and section-cutting. We can also offer 3D detailing using Auto-CAD.
Seismic Strengthening
Metalways offers seismic strengthening of new structures and seismic retrofitting of existing structures to hep make them more resistant to seismic activity, ground motion, or soil failure due to earthquakes. With New Zealand's recent experiences with large earthquakes near urban centers, the need for seismic retrofitting is well acknowledged. We work to the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE)'s guidelines, and although it is important to keep in mind that there is no such thing as a fully earthquake-proof structure, seismic performance can be greatly enhanced through the strengthening process.
Design and Fabrication
We can fabricate from your design or we can design for you from a written or verbal brief or even develop design from hand-drawn sketches using our 3D CAD system. We are experts in plate-cutting and section cutting and can also provide initial trial assemblies if needed. We also have the ability to add some extra flair with 3D detailing in Auto-CAD
Quality Testing and Safety
We recommend our 3D laser scanning service for critical accuracy when precise engineering is essential for safety and alignment. Our concrete scanner technology allows us to locate rebar and obstacles when drilling and installing metalwork. We can also offer NDT (Non-Destructive-Testing) of welding work as part of our Quality Assurance. And to protect your valuable investment we can provide painting, corrosion protection or galvanising finishes to any steel construction. (Nikhil will need to expand on ASMT & CPIB Certification). We have full Site Safe workplace health and safety accreditation and if needed, we can organise traffic management for large scale installations.

Installation and Finishing
To protect your valuable investment we can provide painting, corrosion protection or galvanising finishes to any steel construction. We can also arrange transport to site and if needed, traffic management for large scale installations, or we can work with your own on-site installation team and provide a final quality check to ensure everything is up to spec.
